Election 2024 : यह भगवान राम की भूमि है, जो 500 वर्षों के बाद देवता की वापसी का जश्न मना रही है। फिर भी फैजाबाद निर्वाचन क्षेत्र, जो कि अयोध्या शहर को घेरता है, महिलाओं के प्रति दयालु नहीं रहा है। इस निर्वाचन क्षेत्र ने 1951 के बाद से कभी भी किसी महिला उम्मीदवार को नहीं चुना है। प्रमुख राजनीतिक दलों ने किसी भी महिला उम्मीदवार को मैदान में नहीं उतारा है और जिन्होंने चुनाव लड़ा था वे निर्दलीय थीं। यूपी की पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री सुचित्रा कृपलानी ने 1971 में फैजाबाद सीट से चुनाव लड़ा था, लेकिन हार गईं।
ऐसा कोई विशेष कारण नहीं है कि महिलाएं यहां से नहीं जीत पाईं। स्थानीय पत्रकार राकेश तिवारी कहते हैं, ”प्रमुख राजनीतिक दलों ने महिला उम्मीदवारों को मैदान में नहीं उतारा और यह एक कारण हो सकता है।”, इस साल का चुनाव फैजाबाद के लिए काफी खास है, जिसका नाम अब बदलकर अयोध्या जिला कर दिया गया है। यह वर्ष भव्य राम मंदिर के उद्घाटन और पवित्र शहर के बड़े पैमाने पर बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास का प्रतीक है।
“भाजपा ने नए हवाई अड्डे, रेलवे स्टेशन, नई सड़कों और अन्य परियोजनाओं के साथ अयोध्या को पूरी तरह से बदल दिया है। मंदिर अब शहर का केंद्र बिंदु है और भक्तों की संख्या बढ़ गई है, जिससे अर्थव्यवस्था को काफी बढ़ावा मिला है,” मौजूदा भाजपा सांसद और उम्मीदवार लल्लू सिंह कहते हैं। लल्लू सिंह, एक ठाकुर, संसद सदस्य के रूप में अपना तीसरा कार्यकाल चाह रहे हैं और उन्हें पार्टी में सबसे सुलभ और मिलनसार नेताओं में से एक के रूप में जाना जाता है।
लल्लू सिंह को समाजवादी पार्टी के अवधेश प्रसाद से चुनौती मिल रही है जो एससी वर्ग में पासी जाति समूह से आते हैं। अवधेश प्रसाद मिल्कीपुर से मौजूदा सपा विधायक हैं जो फैजाबाद लोकसभा के विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में से एक है। पिछले महीने पड़ोसी गोसाईंगंज विधानसभा क्षेत्र के सपा विधायक अभय सिंह के भाजपा में शामिल होने से लल्लू सिंह की स्थिति और मजबूत हो गई है।
