महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने स्कूलों में हिंदी को तीसरी अनिवार्य भाषा बनाए रखने वाले पुराने सरकारी आदेश (GR) को रद्द कर दिया है। इस फैसले की जानकारी राज्य के उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने दी।
यह आदेश पहले 2008 में कांग्रेस-एनसीपी सरकार के कार्यकाल में जारी हुआ था, जिसमें कहा गया था कि अंग्रेजी और मराठी के बाद हिंदी को तीसरी भाषा के रूप में सिखाया जाना अनिवार्य होगा। अब उसे सरकारी रूप से हटाया गया है।

MNS (राज ठाकरे):
- इस निर्णय को “मराठी मान-सम्मान की जीत” कहा।
- MNS कार्यकर्ताओं ने 5 जुलाई 2025 को मुंबई में “विजय जुलूस” (Victory Procession) निकाला।
उद्धव ठाकरे (शिवसेना-UBT):
उन्होंने भी समर्थन करते हुए कहा, “मराठी को कोई मजबूरी नहीं, गर्व से पढ़ाई जाएगी।”
सरकार का पक्ष
फडणवीस ने बयान में कहा:
“हर भाषा का सम्मान है, लेकिन मराठी को प्राथमिकता देना हमारी सांस्कृतिक जिम्मेदारी है। हिंदी अनिवार्यता का नियम अब निष्क्रिय हो चुका है।”
शिक्षा पर असर
अब राज्य के स्कूलों में तीसरी भाषा के रूप में हिंदी अनिवार्य नहीं रहेगी। इसका मतलब है कि
इससे मराठी माध्यम और ICSE/CBSE स्कूलों को पाठ्यक्रम लचीलापन मिलेगा।
स्कूल चाहें तो हिंदी के स्थान पर संस्कृत, गुजराती, कोंकणी या अन्य भाषाएँ पढ़ा सकते हैं।
